Third Regional HTA Workshop held in Jakarta, Indonesia on 24-27 February 2025

In an effort to increase technical capacity for conducting economic evaluations, the Ministry of Health, Indonesia and the Health Intervention and Technology Assessment Program (HITAP) Foundation, Thailand under the auspices of the Strengthening Active Partnerships for Policy and Health Intervention Research and Evaluation (SAPPHIRE) and the HTAsiaLink network, successfully organised the Advanced Regional Health Technology Assessment (HTA) Workshop with the support of the World Bank, the Gates Foundation, the Australian Government Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, the Ministry of Public Health Thailand, the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research, and Innovation Thailand, the Office of National Higher Education Science Research and Innovation Policy Council (NXPO) Thailand, the Program Management Unit for Human Resources & Institutional Development, Research and Innovation (PMU-B) Thailand, and the Thailand Science, Research and Innovation (TSRI). 

Held in Jakarta from February 24–26, the workshop brought together researchers from across Indonesia as well as six international participants from Brunei, Cambodia, Malaysia and the Philippines, The programme aimed to equip participants with essential skills to conduct high-quality economic evaluations, and comprised a combination of lectures, and practical exercises, using a real-world case study.  

This workshop marks a significant step in enabling researchers to generate robust evidence to support health priority-setting and contribute to advancing Universal Health Coverage (UHC) as well as fostering regional collaboration and enhancing the role of HTA in policymaking, ensuring more effective and evidence-informed health decisions in Asia.
